Mike Rakshan's career began at Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, training under John Danaher in a room that produced world champions including Gordon Ryan, Garry Tonon, and Georges St-Pierre.
He founded Immortals Jiu Jitsu in October 2020 and competes under the nickname "The Sultan of Strangles." He is a two-time ADCC Open Champion, an IBJJF Pan American Champion, and a two-time IBJJF World Championship silver medalist, and he holds a professional MMA record of 3-0.
On the mat he coaches beginners and competitors in the same room, and he teaches most of the adult jiu jitsu, wrestling, and kids classes on the schedule.
