Wrestling

Takedowns, top control, and the base that wins every grappling exchange.

What it is

Wrestling is how the fight starts and, often, how it is won. This class teaches takedowns, sprawls, and the relentless top pressure that makes the rest of your grappling work. It is a hard, honest hour that pays off in every other class you take.

What a class looks like

Expect a real warm-up, then drilling of a takedown or a defensive sprawl broken down step by step, followed by positional rounds — one person tries to score, the other tries to stop them. It is a good workout, and coaches scale it so a beginner can keep up and improve rather than feel lost.

The missing piece for grapplers

Plenty of good jiu jitsu players cannot get the fight to the ground on their terms. Wrestling fixes that. Learn to shoot, to sprawl, and to ride, and your whole game changes.

Toughness on purpose

Wrestling builds the kind of conditioning and mental grit you cannot fake. Come in willing to work and the class gives it back.

Directly. Winning the takedown and holding top position is a huge advantage in both gi and no-gi.

It is one of the more demanding classes on the schedule, but it is coached, not a free-for-all. You work at a level you can handle.
