A serious academy that still feels like home
Immortals Jiu Jitsu opened in Clifton, NJ in October 2020. We teach adult no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kids jiu jitsu, wrestling, and Muay Thai — and we do it in a room that welcomes total beginners as seriously as it trains competitors.
Where Warriors Are Born
Immortals was founded by Mike Rakshan. His career began at Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, training under John Danaher in a room that produced world champions including Gordon Ryan, Garry Tonon, and Georges St-Pierre.
He built the academy around a simple idea: the person teaching you to fight should have done it themselves. He is a two-time ADCC Open Champion, an IBJJF Pan American Champion, and a two-time IBJJF World Championship silver medalist — proof that the instruction is real.
Since October 2020, that standard has drawn a room of 164 five-star reviews and a membership that ranges from parents and professionals on their first day to active competitors sharpening for the podium.
