Everything you need before your first class

Getting started

Yes. Most people who walk through our doors have never trained a martial art. Book a free class marked for all levels, arrive about 15 minutes early, and a coach will walk you through everything.

Yes — your first class is completely free, with no card required and no commitment. It's the best way to see the room and the coaching before you decide anything.

For your first class, a t-shirt and athletic shorts are perfect. Bring water and flip-flops for walking off the mat. Adults train no-gi; if you keep coming, we'll point you to the right gear. Kids train in the gi and we'll help you get one.

You do not need to get in shape first. Classes are scaled to your level, and grappling itself is the conditioning. You'll improve quickly by simply showing up.

Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, and Muay Thai for adults, plus Kids Jiu-Jitsu and Kids Kickboxing. There is also an Open Mat for members to drill and spar.

Yes. Our kids programs teach jiu-jitsu and kickboxing in a structured, encouraging environment focused on discipline, confidence, and having fun while learning real skills.

Yes — there is live sparring after every scheduled class for all levels, in both gi and no-gi. Intensity is always scaled so beginners can roll safely.

The academy is led by founder Mike Rakshan, a two-time ADCC Open Champion whose career began at Renzo Gracie Academy training under John Danaher. Striking is led by Ognjen Topic, a three-time Muay Thai world champion.
